Halloween

Thank goodness another Halloween done .... its not my favorite day for so many reasons but the kids always seem to have fun. This year we ended up with a dry night, around 7 or 8 degrees and relatively no wind. Some would say a perfect night. The kids started rolling in about 6:15 , this was about 45 minutes later than in previous years .... I'm thinking that it has something to do with the moving of daylight savings to next weekend. It just wasn't very dark at 5:30. I'm constantly amazed at how many teenagers still think it is appropriate to trick or treat ... at least this year they all arrived in costume. Alex and Tessa arrived home with quite a pile of loot. We'll be working on that for quite some time!

At 8 pm we bundled up and went up to the school for the fireworks display. It wasn't as long as in previous years but it was great. I was wishing I knew how to take photos of such an event as it was a perfect night for it ... a slight breeze clearing out the smoke. Just as the last few went off the drops of rain started coming down.

After scrubbing all the makeup off the girls (Tessa's face has reacted to what we had applied this afternoon) they are now in bed trying to sleep. It will be quite a trick as there are fireworks going off up and down the streets and have been for the past 45 minutes. It still seems so strange that anyone can buy these things (supposedly you have to be 19 ... but that rule is obviously not followed) and set them off just anywhere.

Happy Halloween!
