Tessa's 7th Birthday

Tessa has been waiting for this day for weeks. I think it was even more exciting that her actual birthday! The birthday tea party asked that all the girls arrive dressed in their Sunday best and they all looked adorable. We set up a gazebo over the dining room table and draped the white Christmas lights around the inside. It was pretty cool if I don't say so myself! Each of the girls had a teacup and saucer that they used for lunch and then later decorated with wire picture holders and took home in their goodie bags. Alex and Kenna did a great job of serving the girls all of the food items that we had put together for the event. Probably one of the healthiest meals any of them had eaten at any birthday! There wasn't a chip to be found and there was not a single complaint. Best quote of the day goes to Tessa for saying that cheese tasted so much better on the end of a toothpick!

Once they had finished we moved onto the activity portion of the party. Everything had a teaparty twist to it ..... a relay of sorts where they had to balance a beanbag and then a book on their heads (working on their posture of course), musical chairs using classical music (they had so much fun the first time a second round was done!), and then the pin the teabag on the tea cup.

After the presents we finally brought out the cupcake birthday cake (33 cup cakes with a VERY thick layer of icing on top). With seven candles on there this year it is no surprise that Tessa has picked up a few more boyfriends this year! Once each girl had eaten their two cupcakes we finished off the party with with creating beaded wire picture holders that were stuck into the oasis in their teacups. With that it was time to go.

It was a pretty good party ... girls were great and there was lots of help. A big thank you to Dorothy for all the help preparing the food the night before.

Happy Birthday Tessa!
