First full day ... oh my aching feet

Today Today being our first full day in Paris, we had places to go. Tessa was very
much wanting to see the Eiffel tower ... so off we went. It was so cool watching her face light up when she spotted it for the fist time. Priceless. Unfortunately we got
going a bit late and arrived late enough to have the 'pleasure' of a 30 minute line to purchase tickets. The girls and I have been hiking up Dawes hill this spring to prepare for our hike up the tower .. all 668 steps. I'm pretty sure it did help. We had planned on going right to the top floor but the line for the elevator up to the top went around the entire 2nd floor so we decided to pass. Being this was our first full day in Paris, we had places to go. The trip down in the elevator was pretty fun too.

Rain soon followed which determined that our next stop was a cafe for lunch. Wandering up and down the side streets we located a cafe that would work. The girls are not use to the exploring type approach and with Tessa always wanting to know where we are, this was quite a challnge for her. Deciphering menus is quite a challenge, but in the end we all ended up with something to eat.

For the afternoon we walked over to Des Invalides, the magnificent building that displays Napolean's tomb. The girls thoroughly enjoyed walking around listening to the audio guide. I didn't think this stop would be very interesting for them but we ended up staying there for over an hour. With our musee passes in hand, we set off to the Rodin musee which was just around the corner. Jumping to the front of the line was very cool. Tessa took over as tourguide and directed us from statue to statue in the gardens.

With aching feed we called it a day and headed back to search for a supermarche. Dinner will be of the home cooked variety tonight.
