A night out on the town!

Tonight was the annual VCMC year end awards banquet at Kirin.  This year it was moved to New Westminster in the Starlight Casino ... quite a bit closer that the Vancouver location we've been going to.  The food was great though with such a crowded table there wasn't quite as much to fill us up ...in the past by the 4th or 5th course we were stuffed. This time we managed make it to the dessert without a problem.   Mitch was awarded his Open Class First Place plaque along with the $500 credit towards some new tires.  It was a tight competition that he was able to snag on the final run. With this in hand,  the talk at the table was about entering some US events next year to really see how he measures up .... guess we had better start purchasing some of that funny money now while the Canadian dollar is close to being on par.  We just might give our passports a bit of a work out!

After the banquet was over we spent an hour or so in the casino walking around and watching a blackjack table.  When a chair finally opened up Mitch sat down and proceeded to double his money. At this point he decided it was a good time to go.  I enjoyed watching .... sort of reminded me of our trip down to Reno with friends, a lifetime ago (translation ... before kids) .  We've decided we want to get a few people together and have a casino night over at the one on United Blvd.  I need to find out if there is any time of the day that they have $5 tables .... those $15 and $25 dollar tables would probably make short work of my $100!
