Having a hard time believing that the school year is over, and I'm not the only one!Tessa got all spiffed up for the last day (slept in curlers etc) to have curly hair for the ceremony today - she was one of the "lead" singers for the school song for the grade 5s. She has had a great year in Mrs. Kennedy's class - exceeding expectations in most of the subjects. She's pretty pleased about that too :) One of the highlights this year was being involved in the Challenge (gifted program). As much as I was somewhat against this she has enjoyed her Thursday afternoons with Ms. Van Hove, though she was sad that she was missing music to attend.
Alex had an enjoyable first of middle school and ended off the year quite strong. She really took it to heart about getting involved in the school and shows up in about 5 different clubs in the yearbook. Alex went through a time where she was"challenged" by homework deadlines but pulled herself up in the final term and ended up on the honor roll. It was so cool to see the effort and creativity she started putting into her work and the marks soon followed - both she and I were pleased about that. Even though she is excited about being in grade 7, shes currently more excited about sleeping in, computer time, reading books and just hanging out for a bit (me too!) I'm very proud of both kids for their efforts and participation this year - with this attitude, school will be a great place for them both :)
