Head in the trees

Finally a day without a downpour! For our final weekend of summer we ventured out to the UBC botanical gardens with friends. The Greenheart Canopy walk had just recently opened and it had caught Mitch's attention one night during the news. The aluminum bridge (15 m above the ground) provided a much more exciting walk than the one we had done up at Capilano a few years ago. This one had a lot more bounce to is along with being quite narrow - definitely not for everyone. After the adventure through the Fir, Cedar and Alder we explored a few of the other gardens here. It is quite the place and one that we'll probably come back to in the spring as most of the flowers were finished, or at least on their last legs.
