Grama's Birthday

What a weekend to fly to Calgary ..... the whiteout conditions were not what we were expecting! Thank goodness the company was fantastic!

We flew in late Friday night and bunked in with Colin and Michelle. This is the first time we have every stayed overnight with them - it was tonnes of fun so I sure hope they invite us back (I sort of invited us this time ...) It was wonderful to have a bit of time with Ashley and Ethan - the girls had fun playing with them for the morning. On Saturday around noon we had Colin drop us off on Flavelle Ave and we arrived "unexpectedly" on Dorothy's doorstep for lunch. She seemed quite surprised by our arrival - in a good way! We then spent the afternoon with Holly, Andy, Michael, Dorothy and Gordon touring the Calgary zoo with Maryanne our guide. Thank goodness the weather was a bit off as it made for a lot less people at the park!

Sunday was the scheduled family photo shoot - I can't wait to see the final product. I think the family looked awesome in our black and white shirts. To cap it all of we ended up at Heritage Park at a swanky restaurant for dinner with the entire gang - sooooo much fun. Oh, and the food was delicious too! We are so thankful that we made the effort to come into town for Dorothy's birthday - you don't turn 75 every day - and the time with our family is priceless. Can't wait for our next gathering out at the farm in Vanguard!
